Patinformatics, LLC Managing Director, Anthony Trippe has a post appearing on the popular patent blog IPWatchdog today. The title of the article is Data Mining Lessons Applied to Analyzing Patent Documents.

The guest post discusses three lessons from the world of data mining and analysis and how these can be applied to the analysis of patent documents. A specific example of these techniques is provided by studying the popular task of analyzing patent citations. This example was drawn from recent studies in the Issues with Counting Patent Citations series featured on the Patinformatics Blog.
